Online applications are invited from the prospective candidates through the Proforma Application to be made available on the website of the Commission i.e. www.opsc.gov.in The link for registration / re-registration shall be available from 07-08-2021 to 21-08-2021 for special drive Recruitment to 1586 posts of Medical Officers in Group-A of Odisha Medical and Health Services Cadre exclusively for SC and ST Category candidates under Health and Family Welfare Department in the Pay Matrix of Level 12, Cell – 1 of ORSP Rules, 2017 with usual Dearness and other Allowances as may be sanctioned by the Government of Odisha from time to time.

Education
- A candidate must have possessed MBBSoe equivalent Degree from a Medical Collage or Medical Institution recognised by the Medical Council of India.
Age Limiit
- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 37 years as on 1st day of January, 2021 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1984 and not later than 1st January, 2000.
- The upper age limit precribed above shall be relaxable by 10 years for persons with Disabilities whose permanent disability is 40% and more.

Selection Process
- The selection of candidates for Special Drive Recruitment to the posts of Medical Officers (Assistant Surgeon) will be made on the basis of Written Test Onlt.
- The written examination shall consist of one paper of 3 hours duration having 200 questions carrying 200 marks which means 01 marks for each which shall be of multiple choice with no negative marking for wrong answers.
- The syllabus shall be as per MCI syllabus for MBBS and the details are specified in APPENDIX-A appended to the below mention advertisement.
- The qualifying marks of written test will be decided by the Commission for this advertisement as per Health and Family Welfare Department Notification No. 21507/H, dt. 02-08-2021.
- The career making evaluation will not be done as per Health and Family Welfare Department Notification No. 21507/H, dt. 02-08-2021.
- Additional weightage of 3% of extra marks for each completed year of service subject to a maximum of 15% of total marks secured shall be awarded to ad-hoc and contractual doctors serving under State Government / State Government undertaking.
- The commission shall prepare the list of candidates in order of merit on the basis of written Test only which shall be equal to the no. of advertised vacancies.
General Conditions
- At present, only the online applications are invited from candidates for admission to the written examination.
- A candidate found guilty of seeking support for his/her candidature by offering illegal gratification or applying pressure on any person connected with the conduct of the recruitment process or found indulging in any type of malpractice in course of the selection.
- The provision of the Odisha Conduct of Examination Act 1988 are applicable to the examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission.
- Application submitted to OPSC if found to be incomplete in any respect are liable to rejection without entertaining any correspondence with the applicants on that score.
- Admission to examination will be provisional.
